My Mission
To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, one person at a time. To help those who are lost, scared, or feel broken. To be a guiding light that’s leads others to Jesus, encourages others to keep going, and shows them that it’s OK to feel a little lost sometimes, because even if you feel lost, God knows exactly where to find you.
My Story
In 2021, I began to navigate the waters of anxiety. The anxiety that I faced was more than just an anxious feeling. It was crippling. It was debilitating. It became such a stronghold that I couldn’t even go into my kitchen without having a panic attack. The walk to the car felt impossible, and the drive to the store was terrible. I never had a dream of becoming a writer. I did write a few things for my kids when they were younger, because I could never find stories or devotionals that were exactly what I was looking for, so I would write them myself. As I said, writing was never my dream. I did love writing songs, but books were never something that I wanted to make a career out of. Fast forward to 2021. This was the start of a really long journey. One with so many trials, so many obstacles. But through these obstacles, I felt God’s presence. The nights when I would lay awake crying, and the days when I felt like I just wanted to give up, I felt God so close to me. Finding strength in God when I had none, because when I was weak, He was strong. After about 7 months of living with anxiety, fear, and panic, I felt it on my heart to start writing down my journey. Ever since the beginning of writing, I knew that God would use this testimony to show others what happens when you press on, when you persevere, even when you want to give up. This journey has been far from easy. It’s been hard and difficult. I hope that when you read the words I write, you will find hope, healing, and a God who never fails. There were days when I woke from dead sleep to write, because God put something on my heart to share. What started as me writing my journey down, turned into so much more. It turned into love, healing, and messages that I hope you will find more of God in. We all need a little help sometimes, and I hope that I can be that guiding light, that leads you to the main source, Jesus Christ.
What’s the meaning behind the name?
In Acts 18, we see that Paul followed the Great Commission, as he was with Aquila and Priscilla. He also made tents, as this was his trade. A tent provides security from harsh winds, storms, and animals, such as lions.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
I want to be the guiding light that leads people to the ultimate tent, Jesus. We are the light of the world. The light that we have, is from Jesus Himself. I want people to see that there is protection from the wind, storms, and raging seas in our lives. And yes, the enemy. The enemy may seek to devour you, but you have a place of refuge to run to. A tent so to speak. Hence the name, Tentmaker Ministries. I by no means am the tent, nor do I make the tent, but I want to lead you to the Maker who is the tent. The Tentmaker is Jesus. Through God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, you have the ultimate tent. The Trinity. An impenetrable tent, made of a God who loves you more than you will ever know.
Did you know that it is extremely unlikely for a lion to attack you when you are in a tent? Lions view the tent as an object. They can’t see in, and have no idea that you are even in there.
God is your tent, your fortress, and your refuge. He can hide you under the shadow of His wings, where no lion can find you. The enemy is nothing but darkness. God is nothing but light. Light overcomes darkness, darkness can not overcome light.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:5
Therefore, when you seek shelter, you can easily find that shelter in Jesus.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13
God can do all things. Nothing is impossible for Him. If you seek shelter from the storms and raging seas, remember that you always have a Father in whom you can seek refuge. A place where you are secure in His hands. Hidden in the tent of His wings.
